Cultural Details for Hydrangea macrophylla 'Nikko Blue'

Flower Details:
Pink in neutral soil to steel blue in acid soil, large mophead 6"-8", early, June through fall. Early blooming starting with flowers that are cream with blue margins then turning solid blue as the plant matures.

Fruit Details:
Capsule, 0.25 to 0.3125 long, not showy.

Fall Color:
Not remarkable.

Bark Details:
Light, shiny, gray-or straw-brown color.

Disease / Insect Problems or Resistance:
Hydrangeas are generally trouble-free and very rewarding.

Culture and Care:
Transplant into moist, well-drained, soil which has been amended with peat moss or leaf mold. Not tolerant of dry conditions. Sun tolerance is good. USDA Zones 6-9.
