Winterberry Euonymus, Winterberry Spindle Tree

Flower Details:
1-2” long cymes of small, yellowish-green, 4-petaled flowers in May, anthers are purple, not showy.

Smooth, 4-lobed capsule, usually pink (can be yellowish), beautiful in fruit

Red fall color

corky ridges along stems

Disease / Insect Problems or Resistance:
susceptible to scale, but few other serious pest problems

Native Habitat:
Northern China and Manchuria. Introduced 1883.
