Due to severe weather on April 29, 2017 the Dogwood Dash was cancelled for the first in history of the race. Safety of our participants and supporters always come first and the storms unfortunately created too much of a risk for runners, walkers, and volunteers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have had for you.
We appreciate all the supportive words and understanding of the situation and have explored numerous ways to make it up to our participants. Unfortunately, rescheduling the race is not an option. However, we would like to offer all of our registrants participation in our Dogwood Dash Virtual Race.
Starting May 8, 2017 at 12:00 noon, we will have our course at the Arboretum set-up for participants to run/walk at their convenience. The starting/finish line begins in front of the playground and Children's Garden area; you will see a thick white line across the parking lot. The full course map is available here. If you cannot return to the Boone County Arboretum to complete the Dogwood Dash course, you may complete a distance of 5K or 3.1 miles in your neighborhood, a track, another organized race, or on a treadmill.
Participants will be responsible for timing their run/walk and reporting that time to us. The online form is preferred (it will open on Monday, May 8), but you may also print-and-mail a paper version. All forms are due by June 1, 2017. Awards will be given according to age bracket winners. Prizes will be randomly drawn from the submitted forms.
The online form will be available to complete online from Monday, May 8 (noon) through June 1. A print-and-mail paper form is also available. Run/Walk your 5K first, before completing the participation/registration form. The official course map is available here.
