Join us and the regional Taking Root Initiative in planting trees to offset losses due to invasive pests and diseases. We will also be assembling and installing identification labels for the Arboretum plant collections.

Make A Difference Day (MADD) is an annual, national initiative to encourage volunteerism and community service. This year, the event will be held on October 28, 2017 at locations throughout the country. In the Greater Cincinnati Region, the MADD efforts are lead by the Taking Root program, whose objective is to address the current historic loss of our region’s tree canopy (due to invasive pests) by planting 2 million trees by the year 2020 -- one tree for every person in the region.

At the Arboretum, we will be planting trees while raising awareness of the many benefits that trees bring to our communities. We will also be assembling and installing identification labels for the Arboretum plant collections. Volunteers are asked to please register in advance to help us in coordinating the day's activities.

Please bring a favorite shovel or other planting tool, and join us on this day to make a commitment to reforestation!
