  • Lagerstroemia indica x fauriei 'Natchez' // Natchez Crapemyrtle
    Shrub. Grows to 15-25' tall. Fast growth rate. Perfect, white flowers, 6-petaled, 1-1.5" wide, in panicles 6-12" long and 4-7.5" wide, from late June or July into sept. Fruits are capsules, 6-valved, dehiscent, 0.5" wide, containing winged seeds 0.36" long. Many have superb bronze-orange fall color, if the leaves are not killed by an early frost. Bark is gray, smooth, and exfoliating, exposing an underbark in shades of gray to brown. Beautiful cinnamon-brown bark develops after about 5 years. Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun, best for southern gardens. Has good aphid resistance. Native to China and Korea.
