Ornamental Characteristics:
Flower - Perfect, white, 6-petaled, 1-1.5" wide in panicles 6-12" long and 4-7.5" wide panicles, late June-July and into September
Fruit - Broad ellipsoidal 6 valved dehiscent capsule, ½ “ wide, seeds 3/8" long and winged.

Fall Color - Bronze-orange if the leaves are not killed by an early frost
Bark - Smooth, gray exfoliating exposing underbark in shades of gray to brown. Cinnamon brown bark develops after about 5 years.
Other Features - Beautiful exfoliating bark many have supurb fall color
