Ornamental Characteristics:
Flower - Small, white, borne in 4-6" broad, flatish corymbs, on current season's growth in June, July and August.
Fruit - Ornamental capsule, composed of 4-5 carpels which split from the top; red to black in color, late August through November; seeds are lustrous, brownish-black, about the size of buckshot.
Leaf -
Fall Color - No fall color as the leaves are still green when they drop.
Bark - Older stems are gray, similar to Beech bark.
Other Features - Bees love them.
