Leaf - Bright yellow fall color. Pubescent veins on the undersides of leaves, hence its Latin name barbinerve, which means "bearded veins". Unblemished even in the hottest and driest of summer conditions

Bark - Gray and smooth; young stems green-red; reddish, pointed, villous buds
Other Features - Overall, a nice tree, with bright red stems and yellow fall foliage, which could add nice color to any landscape. It is a rare, trouble free tree that would make a fine addition to any plant collector's landscape.

Weakness - May not be tolerant to extremes of heat & drought.
