Ornamental Characteristics:
Flower - Perfect, yellow, 0.33-0.5" across, borne on a 0.5" peticel, April-May, usually solitary, occasionally or in clusters of 2-4. Not showy; hidden by foliage.
Fruit - Bright red, 0.33" long, ellipsoidal berry in October, and persisting into winter.
Leaf -
Fall Color - Quite variable: orange, scarlet, and reddish purple.
Bark - Reddish brown, angled or grooved stems, glabrous.
Other Features - New growth is orange, maturing to a golden yellow. Fruits provide an excellent winter interest.

Care Requirements - Easilly transplanted, extremely adaptable, withstands dry conditions, tolerates urban conditions. Best in full sun, will not withstand extremely moist soils.
