Part-time, Seasonal Internships

Boone County Arboretum will soon begin, in January 2018, the hiring process for horticulture internship positions for the 2018 season.

This internship program offers currently enrolled students in horticulture, landscape architecture, botany, or related fields an opportunity to experience various job responsibilities in a professional environment. On–the–job instruction, educational sessions and field trips to other horticultural institutions offer a perfect complement to academic study. College credit is encouraged but must be arranged by the student.

The position will entail outdoor landscape maintenance work within a 121 acre arboretum featuring computerized irrigation and GPS located plant material. Interns will gain experience in all facets of Arboretum operation but applicants must have some existing experience with plant care, plant materials, landscape maintenance, basic knowledge of irrigation systems, and pesticide application.
