Accommodations
Four informational kiosks spaced throughout the property provide brochures, maps and event information. A general map of the facility layout and additional details can be found in the official Visitor's Guide. Printed copies are available in the kiosks, or download a pdf version.
Our plant collection contains over 3600 individual trees and woody shrubs in more than 25 collection areas. The entire plant collection has been inventoried and mapped. You can search our inventory online multiple ways. Printed maps are available in the kiosks, or as a pdf download. You can also browse our web-based interactive map.
Features of interest include a children's garden, a butterfly garden, and a wildlife viewing area surrounded by a native grassland. An example rain garden and an overhead utility planting demonstration area. There are also restrooms, baseball and soccer fields, tennis and basketball courts. These features are all interconnected by over two miles of paved walking / bicycling trails. Dogs are welcome on the trail as long as they are leashed and any "mess" they make is cleaned up.
SHELTERS: Two open-sided shelters can be reserved by calling the Boone County Parks main office at 859-334-2117 (full shelter reservation details).
