Average mature size of 30-40' tall and 20-30(35)' wide 50 tall. Medium growth rate.

Very little is known of the origin of this hybrid between A. pavia and A. hippocastanum; probably from Germany.

No appreciable fall color due to early loss of leaves, but sometimes colors to a subtle yellow-green before they fall. Bark is dark gray-brown, becoming platy and exfoliating with age.
Culture and Care
Transplant balled/burlapped into full sun or light shade. Prefers moist, acid, well-drained soil, drought tolerant. Zones 5-7. Leaf blotch (a fungal disease) is a possibility.
Strengths, Weaknesses, Other Facts
Attracts bees and hummingbirds; more drought tolerant than most horsechestnuts. Flower, fruit, leaf and twig litter may be a problem.
