Carex morrowii 'Variegata' // Silver Variegated Japanese Sedge
Shrub. Grows to 1-1.5' tall and 1.5-2' wide. Fast growth rate. Long lived. Flowers are elongated brown spikes, noticeable but not showy. Leaves are 0.25-0.5 wide, and have green margins with broad white stripe down the middle, with a hint of silver. Propagate by division in spring. Looks best when grown in moist loam in partial shade, will also grow in shade or full sun. Do not plant against a reflective surface such as concrete walls. Low Maintenance. No known pest or disease problems. Native to Japan. Zones 5-9.
