Flowers are green catkins, in April. Fruits are prominent, overlapping bracts, 2-2.5".

Leaves have 20-24 vein pairs. Bark is shallowly furrowed and scaly.
Culture and Care
Prefers moist well-drained soil but tolerates a range of soil types. Sun to light shade. No serious insect or disease problems.
