Castanea mollissima var. Wilkinson // Chinese Chestnut ("Wilkinson Farm" Provenance)
Tree. The Wilkinson Farm Chinese Chestnut has been used for its good resistance to Chestnut Blight in the backcross breeding program of the American Chestnut Foundation in its field research in Meadowview, Virginia. It will grow into a good nut producer if cross-pollinated by other nearby chestnut seedlings or cultivars.
