Cotoneaster dammeri 'Coral Beauty' // Coral Beauty Bearberry Cotoneaster
Shrub. Grows to 1' (possibly 2.5') tall and 3-6' wide. Fast growth rate. White, 5-petaled flowers, 0.33-0.50" across, borne in late May. Pome fruits, coral red, 0.25" wide. Evergreen. Short lived, usually 5 years. Stems pubescent when young, reddish-brown at maturity. Transplants well from containers, adaptable and very easy to grow. Susceptible to mites, hawthorn lacebug and fireblight. Native to China, introduced 1900. Makes for an excellent evergreen ground cover on banks and gentle slopes, and is effective in masses.
