  • Cotoneaster salicifolius 'Scarlet Leader' // Scarlet Leader Willowleaf Cotoneaster
    Shrub. Grows to 2-3' tall and 6-8' wide. Evergreen groundcover valued for its ground-hugging mat formation. Fast growth rate. Small individual flowers are unnoticeable. Bright red fruits. Evergreen. Foliage develops red-purple tints in winter. Transplant as a container plant. Best in moist, well-drained, acid soil, in sun to partial shade. Zones 6-7. Susceptible to hawthorn lacebug, canker, scales, cotoneaster webworm. Native to Western China, introduced 1908. Becomes less attractive with age.
