Flower and Fruit Details
Flowers are delicate pink, 12-20 in each slender, nodding, 1-2.5" raceme, in May.
Leaf and Bark Features
Bark is brown, exfoliating with age.
Culture and Care
Prefers a well-drained, moist soil. High heat may reduce growth. Flowers on previous season's wood, so prune after flowering. Rich green foliage is generally not troubled by any insect or disease.

This species is rare outside of botanical gardens and arboreta.
Suggested Uses
Could be used for massing and perhaps bank plantings, or as a filler in the shrub border.
