Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' // Hamelin Dwarf Fountain Grass
Grass. Grows to 2-3' tall, dense form. cream-white inflorescences resemble foxtails, beginning in late July. Leaves are rich green, glossy, narrow, spike-like upright to arching, fluffy. Golden yellow fall color. Best with regular moisture but tolerates most soils, and is moderately drought tolerant. Plant in full sun to light shade. Self-sows manageably. Propagate by division. Zones 4-9. Native to Japan and much of eastern Asia, in sunny open lowlands and grassy places. Effective when planted in groups or masses.

Grass. Grows to 18" tall - a true miniature. Clumping form. Pinkish-cream flowers in August. Leaves are green, short, fluffy, in spike-like clusters. Best in evenly moist but well-drained soil, full sun to light shade. Zones 6-9. Originated as a seedling of 'Hamelin'.
