Grass. Grows to 2-4' tall, clumping form. Blue-green foliage with yellow fall color. Does well in both acid and alkaline soils. Plant in full sun, tolerant of light shade and extremely dry conditions. Propagate by division. Zones 3-9. Native to North America, in prairies and open dry fields. A valuable forage grass with strong glaucous, light blue stems.
