Mature Size, Growth, Longevity
Average mature size of 12-15' tall and 8-12' wide, can grow to 20-30' tall in optimal conditions. Slow to medium growth rate.
Flower and Fruit Details
Flowers are white, looking creamy due to yellow stamens, in 2-4" flat-topped heads. Fruits are oval, starting pinkish-rose becoming bluish-black at maturity, up to 0.5" long, used for preserves since colonial days.
Culture and Care
Transplants well to many soil types, sun or shade. Does well in dry soil. Zones 3-9. No serious disease or insect problems.
Suggested Uses
Interesting as small specimen plant.
