Mr. Joe Boggs is an assistant professor in The Ohio State University Extension, and is affiliated with the OSU Department of Entomology. Joe has specialization in Tree/ Shrub Diagnostics, Applied Entomology, Non-Native Invasive Pests, and Urban Forestry. He averages over 100 teaching presentations per year, has authored a large number of articles in numerous green industry/ arboriculture publications. You can hear him Saturday mornings (April - October) during the "Buggy Joe Boggs Report" segment on the "In the Garden with Ron Wilson" radio show, which is syndicated to 34 radio stations in 12 states. Dr. Bill Fountain is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board Certified Master Arborist with Tree Risk Assessment Qualification. Bill has served on the ISA Board of Directors and numerous ISA committees, and the Kentucky Arborists' Association Board of Directors. He is a frequent instructor for ISA courses and the author of numerous publications relating to arboriculture and landscape management. Read More.
Mr. Lindsey Purcell is an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Board Certified Master Arborist and Urban Forestry Specialist. He is the Executive Director of the Indiana Arborist Association, an instructor for ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification courses, the and has served communities around the nation as a landscape and tree professional through roles in state and municipal government, non-profit organizations and private enterprise for over 35 years. - Dr. Bill Fountain (Kentucky Arborists Association) - Species diversity and use of monotypic species, doing our due diligence with tree risk assessment and appraisal.
- Joe Boggs (Ohio State University) - Outlook on insect & and disease threats looming for our region’s forests.

Past T.R.E.E. Presentations:
In 2018, Friends of Boone County Arboretum (FBCA) established the "Tree Research, Evaluation, and Exploration (T.R.E.E.)" Program and Fund to bring attention to the various ecological challenges our trees are facing, as well as highlight the need for and successes in various tree conservation efforts, and expand plant acquisition and research projects at the Arboretum.
