Phyllostachys atrovaginata

Incense Bamboo
A very fast-growing, water-loving, "running", edible-shoot bamboo, w/ pointed, strongly vertical new culms emerging, then growing 15-30' tall..

Phyllostachys aureosulcata

Yellow Groove Bamboo
An adaptable, "running bamboo" w/ edible new shoots, with a yellow stripe in the vertical culm groove, or sulcus.

Phyllostachys nuda

Naked Sheath Bamboo, Stone Bamboo
A tall, running, dark green timber bamboo with 1-2" culms that are purplish-brown, nearly black, then green with white rings at the nodes.

Red Margin Bamboo
A very strong, upright, fast-growing, fast-spreading "running bamboo" with red-margined new culm sheaths and edible new culms.

Giant Timber Bamboo
A very showy tall, large, wide-diameter culm form of timber bamboo with thin, weak culm walls and a very fast growth rate in forming a grove.
