Ornamental Characteristics:
Flower - Perfect, 6-petaled, 1-1 1/2"wide in 6-8"long and 3-5" wide panicles, white to pink, purple to deep red
Fruit - Broad ellipsoidal 6 valved dehiscent capsule, ½ “ wide, seeds 3/8" long and winged.
Leaf -
Fall Color - Yellow, orange and red on same tree
Bark - Smooth, gray exfoliating exposing underbark in shades of gray to brown.
Other Features - Beautiful exfoliating bark many have supurb fall color
